Even today, instructions are mandatory for every product that requires explanation, in the official language of the country in which the product is sold. However, nowhere is it explicitly stated whether these must be supplied in printed form or whether a digital form is sufficient.
However, it appears that the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC will be replaced by a new regulation at the beginning of 2027. This will stipulate that technical documentation may be made available in digital form. The new authorisation brings significant advantages for companies: documents can be found, retrieved and archived at any time (and especially on the move). Fewer filing cabinets and storage areas are required. Printing and administration costs are reduced many times over and the company’s carbon footprint is improved.
For digital newcomers, this changeover could pose a major challenge. At the top of your list should be a multilingual content management system (CMS). This allows content to be created, managed, edited and published online in different languages. It can also be adapted and published in a matter of seconds. This may sound a little abstract now, but after a non-binding discussion with us, everything will become more tangible, we assure you.
We will be happy to clarify your questions and uncertainties, look at the options and provide you with a solution in keeping with your needs.
